Rosie Lox Gets the Guilty Gills
Rosie Lox is a fabulous tabby with a flair for flair. She lives in a beachfront cabana, naps exclusively in hammocks, and never takes off her red heart sunglasses with rose-colored lenses—not even at night. Her favorite pastime? Eating delicious ocean nibbles from the sea while sunbathing to the sound of those pesky old pelicans diving for fish.
But one breezy afternoon, as she pawed through a platter of limu poke and shrimp cocktails, Chip, a crabby crab, sidled up to her beach blanket.
“You know,” Chip said, waving a claw, “not all seafood is... sustainable.”
Rosie froze mid-lick. “What do you mean, Chip? I only eat the finest ocean nibbles!”
Chip adjusted his tiny reading glasses. “Finest isn’t always fairest. Some tuna is harvested from overfished waters, and did you check if those shrimp were farmed in a wrecked mangrove forest?”
Her rose-tinted lenses popped right out of her frames.
Rosie Jumps on the High Seas of Discovery
Disturbed but determined, Rosie set off on a journey of discovery—pawing through books, attending dockside lectures, and watching documentaries while sipping seaweed smoothies. She learned about bycatch, overfishing, and ghost nets. She was shocked. She was steamed. She was sashimi-level serious.
Then she found her groove: seafood that was certified, traceable, and lovingly farmed or caught. Her hammock hangouts were now filled with responsibly farmed salmon, seaweed crisps, and guilt-free tuna-bites.
She hosted seafood soirees on the sand, where she’d shout, “No shade, just shade-grown kelp!” and toss information about where to find planet-kind seafood like confetti.
And every time a young kitten or responsible human asked how to eat seafood and save the sea, she’d lean back in her hammock, adjust her heart-shaped shades, and purr:
“Sweetie, it’s all about finding the love of the sea. Now grab a sustainable scallop and join the journey.”
And just like that, Rosie Lox embarked on a quest to bring her new found love for seafood to ocean lovers everywhere.
